American Poems

Signal
I hide in my eyes made of glitter, made of lies
I hide in my house of cards.
I hide from the fact that you’re never going see me
Bleeding from the shooting stars.

I’m just a signal in the air
You can feel me coming
But you don’t know from where.
I’m just a brain wave
On your mind
And I’m moving to the front before you can get behind.

Spirit on the streets of destiny
The rock you feel, the roll that you can’t see.
A ghost in the house of culture
The tide in the fashion’s ocean
I know you still believe what you can’t see.

I walk in the ways of the songs of yesterday
I’m humming all the tunes you know
I slide through the crowd and I hear it getting loud
The feeling as it starts to grow.

My colors soon will fill the outline
All that’s defined
This shape will take its place on the skyline
In the headlines

Because I’m just a signal in the air
You can feel me coming
But your don’t know from where.

Betty Blue
Keep playing your merry melody, my love
While I sing my dark notes mid-bar.
You carry on in faith to your Betty Blue
And I, I pity that within you
Yet it makes me strive to be more
To rise above the Cyclops monster my twisted soul
Growls to become. To reach above the concrete walls
That Satan claims hold me.

Jesus and you,
Save this Betty Blue.
Watch over me, and I’ll try to watch over you.
