Dearest

poetry for lovers apart

Poem

Remind me not that we are far apart my love
Instead embrace the distance as the closeness
Lend the idea of your body to mine as words to paper
Sparrows to song
Prisms through windows that break on other things
That cascade their beauty across the sitting rooms
Embracing all they touch with
Crystal fingers
As I tell each one to hold faster, tightly
Wantonly seeking as far as the hours will allow
