Poem

These things…
That keep joy without a ploy
Sort in the human race
Easier said than hello
trying to see peace and joy
In these time we need love
For select few it’s their killjoy.

That thing…
We all have that thing
That one hard to lose hook
Yet, happy people can get stuck
Sit there on that swivel stool, circling
Talk up your troubles to a careless barkeep
Pour it in as you fill in your feel good
Drink up your bottom fizz as you fall down.

Those things…
We look all over for those things
Everyone says it exists in us, too deep to see
Without a care searching to be what we care to be
Falling for someone’s care to be loved,oh not there
Working at it to make it stand out to be happier
Wanting to be secure, in this you think is happiness.

To be…that thing
In all we do, it’s that happiness we are after
Creating it best we can, to be without that fill
Making life like our dream chasing nights
Fighting the everyday rumble of life is rolling dice
Exposed to this thing has rewards brighter than lights
That thing we look forward to can find paradise
