Running Water

contemplative poem

Poem

The running waters of the past
remind me of my future home.
There, over there, near the river,
among the trees I’ll walk alone.

Alone but not afraid nor abandoned.
I’ll know no fear nor distress,
and as my soul and body rest
I’ll be surrounded by so many hopes.

The dusk will not bring me dread
but the soothing feeling of my home.
And there, near the water that runs
I’ll have a long and holy dream

that my home is real.
