Poem

Somewhere between the places that you escape to
And the places that you roam,
The places that you see day in and day out
Is the same light, the same sky
The same eager to see softness, sensitive and joyful
Dancing and singing
It’s with you, around you, through you
You can stay or you can go
Your dreams and hopes
And the light and sky
Will hold you
Their thin strings attached to you
As they float through the rose-colored air
Remember them here
And hear them making a note or two appear
For every sunset
Harmonizing with the beauty of truth
And the cherishing of existence
Hold still
And feel them take flight
