Ode to Another Time
Poem
To this another day
To another time lapsed away
Where does it take stake in that time
When time for us keeps running away
Unable to keep a tight grip on time,
in the meantime
Going about finding there’s no time in space
Delusional things living amid this time of illusions.
With our inner eyes closed, we shout out
Saying empty things with eyes open
We of little minds speak loudly
To those with the power that do little.
I’m lost in your message of demands.
Yet, those that help you can not wait
They fight to keep your freedom to speak out
Asking for a change to have it your way
With each decade changes occur
During that time we all seek more
Nothing changing but more demands.
To this, another day will rise
To another time will pass you by
To another time you will be transported
To an age of more demands for change
Never being satisfied with living,
Age grabbing a hold in the time that’s flown away
To, a new time … again you will demonstrate
how unhappy life has you,
But will that time be yours to speak?
We of little minds have spoken loud,
in a time long ago
During that time we all sought more
Nothing changed but more demands,
In disguise to your aging mind.
Now, as you sit
wondering what
Is it these young people cry over …
Open your eyes to see it’s happening all over again,
But now, you’re sitting in your La-Z-boy
Without demands, cause your war has been fought.
