Gothicarus: Part V – Her Lullaby

Serial Poem

“Innocence, in a sense,
(Lost in heart, lost alone)
Innocence, in a sense,
Never made me its home.

Wise ‘whys’
Revealed damaging truth.
Wise ‘whys’
Stole the joy of my youth.

Hear, here,
The lament of my soul.
Hear, here,
How prescience took its toll.

Innocence, in a sense,
Maybe never was mine.
Innocence, in a sense,
Exists not for my kind.”
