Ship of Dreams

Life Poem

I am aboard a ship,
looking at my past,
don’t know where I’ll go,
don’t know who I am.

Is this my home I’m leaving?
There, the little spot on the horizon,
it goes blacker, smaller, shapeless,

just a faint memory, that’s all,
or it was just a dream,
a consolation for the broken heart,

the heart that never knew
affection, love and warmth…

I start to feel the cold.
The wind is cutting,
someone’s shouting,

Well, I can take my time.
I have plenty, have I not?
‘Cause I’m aboard a ship,
a ship that’s built of dreams.
