Confessions of a Nice Person

Alone in the Woods

I’m sick of consideration
of tip-toeing with subservient salutations
mentally groveling to figure
the proper expression of an emotional need
taking heed
always stubbing my own toes
never touching those of my foes

I’m sick of consideration
of always sidewaysing my opinions
trying to fit in by observing generalizations
razing my fine points
that show the truth
as pure as youth
turning my beat up to a profound static
confused
consumed
made formless
by the social status quo

I’m sick of consideration
of quieting my quirks in acquiescence
silencing my loudest voice
to fit the one that is most choice
silencing my conscience
silencing me

silencing my opinions regarding
who, what, which, when, if – then
diplomatizing my perspective
that could possibly provide a pertinent placation
for a problem at hand
that could also potentially offend
the values for which another stands
so never mind

when will someone notice my sacrifices
self-effacing and -denying advices?
when will someone notice my efforts of inaction
of preserving the peace from cracks and factions?

when will someone notice me?
