Spring Rain

Life Poem

Poem

They take you by surprise,
the squares, circles, cubes and triangles
falling from the sky
on your way back
from a day in war.

They smile at you
like little children
expecting words of kindness
for everything they do
soon getting to know
the reality of the fall.

They think they are similar
to you
living a life
without knowing
where they are going to end up
but still hoping for a sunny day
every morning.

They also scream
at the end
when they realize
that this is it
and there is no going back.
Ever again.
